1802 Log House

As a way to show how the settlers lived, Beaver restored a log house from 1802, built as the town itself was starting. The house has been fully restored and now contains replicas of furnishings found during this time Outside the building are small gardens, like those the pioneers may have grown.

Fort McIntosh Site

Built by the Continental Army in 1778, Fort McIntosh held the largest number of soldiers west of the Alleghenies and was one of the first permanent peacetime bases, used between 1778 to 1788. Efforts to restore the fort have been undergoing since 1893 and the site has unearthed thousands of artifacts.
