Laurel Mountain State Park is located in between Ligonier and Jennerstown in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Frequented by skiers and snowboarders, the 3,000 ft (914 m) mountain is home to the the Springs at Laurel Mountain, one of the first ski areas in Pennsylvania. The hill is open from December to March and contains a retail shop and a food area.

Primarily used as a picnic area, Laurel Summit State Park offers a number of picnic tables, a group pavilion, water facilities and restrooms. Located 2,739 ft (835 m) above sea level, the park tends to be a bit cooler than the nearby communities of Jennerstown, Laurel Mountain and Ligonier.

Located near Ligonier, Linn Runn State Park boasts hiking, fishing and picnicking areas. There are nine cabins available during the summer for overnight guests. Hike up to Adams Falls for a picnic or some trout fishing and explore the park with the 6 mi (9.6 km) of trails.
