Youghiogheny River Trail Youghiogheny River Trail is a 43 mi (69 km) trail that runs along the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie rail line between McKeesport and Connellsville. Motorized vehicles are not allowed to use the trail, as is caters to bikers, hikers, horseback riders, cross-country skiers and snowshoers. The YRT is part of the Great Allegheny Passage and offers visitors the option of exploring Pennsylvania's, into Maryland's, backcountry areas. |

Great Allegheny Passage Connecting Pittsburgh, PA, to Cumberland, MD, the Great Allegheny Passage runs 150 mi (240 km) and is open for biking, hiking and horseback riding. In the winter the trail welcomes cross-country skiers and snowshoers. The trail follows the Allegheny River in many parts, offering scenic and historic views and frequently winds through communities in Southwest Pennsylvania, permitting access to their amenities. |
