Located 10 mi (16 km) east of Washington, PA, visitors will find the Mingo Creek Park Observatory. Operated by the Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh, the building contains two telescopes and a planetarium. Visitors are invited to the observatory for a variety of events and programs, including the Star Parties, which run in the spring, summer and fall on various evenings.
